Lake Plantagenet is home to the Minnesota state record perch: 3lbs 4oz.
Walleyes – if you want walleyes this is the lake to be on. Our 2012 Gillnet Survey was a whopping 19.1 walleyes per net, one of the highest in the state.
How's the fishing? Well that's all up to you! With 30+inch walleyes, 50+ inch muskies, jumbo perch, northern pike, largemouth bass and panfish, there should be something out there for everyone.

A 14ft Lund boat with aluminum lift or lift for one boat per cabin comes with each cabin or docking space for your boat. Our boats are equipped with 12 volt lights, must have own batteries or we have batteries for rent. We have 15 hp motors for rent not to mention a 2001 Sweetwater Pontoon with a 50 hp motor, depth finder and live well. We carry an assortment of fishing tackle, live bait and premium gas mixed or straight for your convenience. Life jackets are provided for Balsam Beach Resort boats but must be checked out of the office. A Life vest is required by Law for each person in a boat. Other items available to complete your fishing trip are our depth finder rentals, free lake maps and a fish-cleaning house to clean the big catch in.
